A Brief History

Campbell picture framing was opened by Alexander Campbell who after serving in WWI was inspired by his apprenticeship by a picture framer and carpenter in Nova Scotia. He eventually wanted to start his own picture framing business so he decided to move to Montreal and Campbell picture framing was created in 1924. In 1929 Alexander had a son Ian who trained under him to take over the business which he eventually did in 1958. This legacy of apprenticeships would continue after Ians sons John and Glenn took over and still run the business to this day. The original business has moved a couple times through the years originally located in Verdun eventually moving to its current location in Sherbrooke Street West since 1977. The location has moved many times but the Campbell family's commitment to quality has always been the same.
